A construction worker died while three others injured when a wall collapsed inside the Quezon City Hall late Thursday night, a city official confirmed on Friday.
Engelbert Apostol, chief of the Public Affairs and Information Service Department , told the Manila Times that the incident occurred around 10:09 p.m. at a construction site at the Civic Center B Building.Quezon City Police District Director BGen. Nicolas Torre 3rd said a group of investigators also rushed to the scene as he directed them to closely coordinate with the concerned local government officials to look into the possible violations of the building code.
Initial reports from the Bureau of Fire Protection said the lone fatality was pinned against the wall that collapsed.He was pulled out of the rubble and was rushed to the nearest hospital where he reportedly died while undergoing treatment.Apostol said the engineering department will also conduct an investigation along with QCPD.He said the wall that collapsed was near the area where a scenic elevator was supposed to be installed.
