We took our query on must-see acts right to TRNSMT boss Geoff Ellis to find out his recommendations.
TRNSMT is just around the corner with many ticket holders studying the line-up trying to decide who they're going to see . As well as headliners like The Strokes, Lewis Capaldi and Paolo Nutini, the festival is the perfect place to discover your new favourite band or check out a performer you would never have considered before.
"This list is only a handful of the wonderful new acts on the bill at TRNSMT this year – if anyone hasn’t heard of the artists, I would urge you to check them out – Lewis Capaldi, Sam Fender and Gerry Cinnamon all played early slots on the King Tut’s stage before they became global names." Dylan John Thomas – Another home grown star likely to join the ranks of Messrs Cinnamon, Capaldi and Nutini, Dylan John Thomas has gone from busking to performing his own solo headline show at the Barrowland and invited to play with Noel Gallagher at Dundee Summer Sessions. His unique DIY sound is drenched in stories and anecdotes of his city, of Glasgow and I’m keen to see what he does next, his slot on the main stage at TRNSMT will be memorable for sure.
Beabadoobee - Headlining the illustrious King Tut’s Stage mere days before the release of her second studio album ‘Beatopia’, Beabadoobee is making her long awaited TRNSMT debut giving festival fans a peek inside her dream world. One to watch, Beabadoobee wears her influences on her sleeve and ironically, her vintage Britpop sound makes her one of the freshest sounds in contemporary pop today.
