William Hanna and Joseph Barbera first rose to fame when they created the iconic cat and mouse duo Tom and Jerry, but they went on to establish their own studio. Hanna-Barbera's best cartoons have stood the test of time, and they have inspired countless spinoffs and reboots.
Hong Kong Phooey is a hero with paws faster than lightning, but by day he masquerades as an agreeable custodian at the police station named Penry. Hong Kong Phooey fancies himself as a brave crime-fighting canine, but all of his successes are either completely coincidental or caused by his cat Spot. Hong Kong Phooey's unbridled confidence is what makes the character so funny.
Space Ghost was a different prospect to most of Hanna-Barbera's other cartoons. It's more of a straightforward superhero show, with Space Ghost facing off against a cavalcade of bizarre villains such as the insectoid Zorak and the pirate Brak. Space Ghost is accompanied by his two young sidekicks Jan and Jace, and their pet monkey Blip.
His get-rich-quick schemes and his gang of misfits are both classic tropes of the gangster genre, even if Top Cat's stakes are much lower. T.C., as he is sometimes known, enjoys an antagonistic relationship with Officer Dibble, who is a stereotypically inept beat cop. T.C. is incredibly witty. His schemes may fall apart in every episode, but he is quick with a quip to smooth things over with Dibble.
3 Fred Flintstone The Flintstones Close In many ways, Fred Flintstone is a typical sitcom father. He loves his family, but he is constantly looking for excuses to get into hare-brained schemes with his best friend instead of sitting at home with them. Fred is behind many of the best quotes from The Flintstones, especially when he is arguing with the various prehistoric animals he employs as household appliances.
