The horror genre is responsible for some of the most striking images in the history of cinema, as it is often the visuals that truly terrify that are seared into the memories of filmgoers. There is certainly a lot of room for horror films that are able to address psychological issues that deal with grief, trauma, loss, and familial dysfunction; however, it's often films with truly unsettling images that end up sticking with moviegoers long after the credits have wrapped.
