It's not even a debate
Nottingham's Winter Wonderland is in full swing, making visitors feel more festive by the day. Now we're into December, the Christmas market is getting busier and busier with crowds flocking there during the day.
Couples can get cosy over mulled wine in the alpine bar Sur La Piste or snuggle up on the big wheel with spectacular views of the city at night. It doesn't get more romantic than that. There's plenty of opportunity to visit Nottingham's Christmas market, which is open for a whopping 46 days, making it the third longest running market in the UK after Birmingham and Bristol, which are both open for 49 days, according to a study by Christmas Tree World.
Fun seekers can skate for 400m around Slab Square, high above the crowds exploring the stalls down below, but for anyone not keen on heights there's still the traditional rink on the ground. A football manager in ice There can't be another ice bar in the country that has a sculpture of its city's football manager, but we have. Nottingham Forest coach Steve Cooper has the unusual honour of being carved out of ice in the bar, which this year has the theme I Believe in Miracles.
One stall is dedicated to vegan cuisine and all around the market there's as much sweet stuff you can dream of with toffee apples, chocolate kisses, fudge, toasted marshmallows, crepes, chocolate-covered fruit and doughnuts. Festive drinks such as mulled wine and mulled cider are on sale plus a full range of beers, spirits, wine and hot drinks.
