The 10 UK towns and cities on the coronavirus watch list – as fears of second wave ‘rolling from Europe’ grow
Data from the Covid Symptom Study app shows that there are currently 2,110 new cases a day of the virus, this is up fromThe figure excludes care homes and includes cases over the two weeks up July 25 and is based on data from 13,063 swab tests.
At the top of the list this week is Blackburn with Darwen where 0.43 per cent of the population is estimated to have symptomatic Covid and data from the app claims that 994 people in the region used the app to track their symptoms.Salford in Greater Manchester is also at risk with 0.27 per cent of people being symptomatic of 2,477 locals who use the app.
In Kirklees, West Yorkshire 0.25 per cent of people logged being symptomatic of 5,077 who use the app. Calderdale in West Yorkshire has seen an increase in cases and the data showed that 0.2 per cent of people are symptomatic of 3,038 locals who use the app.In Rotherham cases have dropped but 0.21 per cent of people are symptomatic of 2,375 who use the app.This is while in Wigan 0.19 per cent of 2,782 who use the app are symptomatic and in Wakefield 0.18 per cent 3,427 locals who use the app are symptomatic.
