Manchester’s Gay Village knows how to put on a good party, and you’ll probably find one happening there any night of the week. But for one weekend only, it goes all out for
Storm Lillian may have hit the North West on Thursday night, yet it wasn’t going to get in the way of the celebrations. The four day event kicked off on Friday when people descended upon the Gay Village to catch headliner Jessie J, a DJ set by Gok Wan and a performance by The Greatest Showman star Keala Settle.
Participants embraced the theme ‘Buzzin to be Queer’, inspired by Manchester’s iconic Worker Bee symbol. Despite a few counter protests the parade went ahead without a glitch. That night Rita Ora wowed crowds at the Gay Village Party, along with two-time Eurovision winner Loreen and Katy B.
