On her 21st birthday, she became engaged to Charlie Rigby just before he was called to serve in World War Two. They married in May 1945 upon his return and enjoyed 59 years together. During the war, Marjorie worked as a radar operator, ensuring the accuracy of fighter aircraft navigation. 'We had to get it exactly right because if it was wrong our fighters would be off course,' she recalls. \Marjorie's service has not been forgotten. She cherishes the memories of her wartime contributions and the recognition she has received, including a card from the late Queen for her 100th birthday and one from King Charles and Queen Camilla for her 105th. While she acknowledges the physical limitations that come with age, Marjorie remains optimistic and active.
