Scientists say there could be as many as 30 mutations of Pirola, making it harder for the WHO to keep a tab on its circulation
These are the eleven coronavirus symptoms to look out for as the 'highly-mutated' Pirola variant sweeps through the UK.
It comes as health experts are launching a new study to monitor levels of Covid-19 among the UK population this winter. The study is a scaled-down version of the Covid infection survey that ran for nearly three years and was considered the “gold standard” for measuring prevalence of the virus.A recent rise in Covid-19 cases has come at the same time children have returned to school and the days have started to turn shorter and chillier.
It's now estimated most regions in the UK are being affected by Pirola cases after it was first detected in Denmark in July. As of September 18, the highly-mutated strain from the Omicron variant has now been confirmed in 54 positive Covid-19 cases. Doctors and public health experts are urging Brits who are elderly or clinically vulnerable to get their boosters this autumn, while a full list of symptoms to watch out for has been released. Pirola symptoms are not thought to be different to common symptoms of Covid-19, and there is no evidence at this point to suggest it is more deadly or more contagious than previous strains.NHS advice states that you should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people if you have Covid symptoms.
