Spring is just around the corner -and there's plenty of things to do in Manchester to mark the start of a new season
For the first time in months it finally feels like winter is retreating. The dark, cold nights are not so long, the sun is rising before 7am and the spring flowers are starting to bloom. The retreat of winter is something to be celebrated, and a signal that we can start filling our diaries with new and exciting events and celebrations.
The new exhibition, which runs from March 22 to September 29, will examine the conflict through four key sections, hearing from people with a range of different perspectives. It will focus on: The Night of the 27-28 June 1970; The Descent into Violence; ‘Hell in a Wee Place’; and Today and the Future. It is a free exhibition.International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
Greater Manchester will also be getting its first ever pug cafe this March. Already a popular venue in London, Cuppapug will be opening its first café in the North West on Chapel Street in Salford and people can book for an hour and play with the dogs or just simply enjoy their company.If you haven't already, make sure to mark Sunday, 10 March in your calendars because it's Mother's Day.
American R&B singer Ne-Yo will be joined by special guest Mario for his ‘Champagne and Roses’ tour on March 7. The pair will come back to the venue for a second night on March 19 - tickets here. For the second year in a row, BBC Radio 6 will be bringing their Music Festival to venues across Greater Manchester. Featuring an array of international and up-and-coming acts, the festival is expected to feature lots of special guests and surprises - and it’ll all be broadcast on 6 Music and BBC Sounds.
