Members of the public can visit a number of historically important places in Lancashire for free over the next couple of weeks
Some of Lancashire 's most illustrious buildings are opening their doors for free, allowing members of the public to view the county's rich history for themselves.
Burnley Known for its football, Burnley offers a Claret's Collection exhibition at Burnley Library. A fan-led collection, those interested can find out about the history of Burnley Football Club on Saturday 7 September and Tuesday 10 September.On the second weekend, highlights include Queen Street Textile Museum in Burnley.
Exhibitions, house tours, a Victorian tea room and expert talks will all be open for free. Booking for the tours, which take place from 11.30am to 2.15pm on both days, can be made here. Also on the day, there will be a chance to visit the Lancashire Archives to find out more about the Council's '50 Objects Project'. This revolves around displays of 50 local artefacts to mark the modern County Council's 50th anniversary.
