Hundreds of revellers descended on a Lancashire pub garden to watch one of the county's favourite and messiest events - the World Gravy Wrestling Championships.
Incredible pictures from the competition show the wrestlers jumping on top of each other, while they slowly get more covered in gravy. With the rain holding off long enough, punters arrived in droves through the doors to watch the spectacle and dodge specs of gravy in a relaxed family atmosphere. "But it's such good fun, it's just being ridiculous. I love it, it just brings people into Rossendale from all over the country, the turnout always really good, it's really well supported, it's just mental."
