12-time NBA All-Star and future Hall of Fame point guard Chris Paul is heading back to Texas. According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, Paul intends to sign with the San Antonio Spurs.The 39-year-old will join future superstar and 2023, No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama in San Antonio, where they'll look to take the next step.According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Paul will sign a one-year, $11 million contract.
According to Haynes, Paul had a great talk with legendary head coach Gregg Popovich and was sold on the culture and opportunity to help elevate Wembanyama's game to the next level. Paul is coming off a mediocre season with the Warriors, where he averaged 9.2 points per game, 6.8 assists, and 3.9 rebounds in 26.4 minutes per game in 58 games for the Warriors last season.
