This Fort Worth hot dog truck has a more heartwarming story than most. Its owner, Austin Underwood, has Down syndrome and runs the truck with help from his mom, Jan. Underdawgs also supports the Each and Everyone Foundation by providing accessible job training for adults with intellectual disabilities. The menu keeps it simple with just three hot dogs on offer — the Classic Dawg, the Straw Dawg and the Jalapeño Straw Dawg.
This spot just celebrated its 50th anniversary in February, and with more than 20 different subs on their menu it’s a sub shop through and through. Still, their hot dog options with the chili, cheese, jalapeño and onion Texas Dog, the sauerkraut and mustard N.Y. Style, or the relish, pickles and peppers of their Chicago Style dog are nothing to sneeze at.
