A 14-year-old male was subsequently arrested for possessing fireworks

It comes after an evening of reported fighting and anti-social behaviour on the Westlink last night, Wednesday September 5. Officers say that is is suspected that those invovled had used social media to "pre arrange" the activity.

A spokesperson for PSNI West Belfast said: "This evening West Belfast Neighbourhood Policing Team unfortunately had to deal with young people fighting and engaging in anti social on the West Link. ."This behaviour is completely unacceptable. Those involved caused a significant danger to themselves and other road users."We would ask parents to be inquisitive about your child's whereabouts and social media use.
