AURORA, Colo. — A teenage girl is in the hospital after being seriously injured in a shooting that took place early Saturday morning in Aurora, police said.
Just before 1 a.m. Saturday, officers with the Aurora Police Department responded to a shooting that occurred in the area of 1030 S. Blackhawk St., which is near an apartment complex, the department said in a release. Police said it is unclear whether the shooting happened inside, outside or inside a vehicle.
The release said a 17-year-old girl was the victim of the shooting. She was initially taken to a nearby urgent care but was later transferred to a hospital for life-threatening injuries, per the release.Aurora Police is currently investigating this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or visit. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
