Man United have added Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee to their squad so far this summer, but a lot more work still needs to be done ahead of the transfer deadline.
Manchester United strengthened their defensive options with the signing of Lille centre-back Leny Yoro in midweek. It was a huge deal for the club, beating Real Madrid to his signature.
With that in mind, MEN Sport has taken a close look at how United's squad looks as it currently stands and what might change before the window closes in our audit of the player inventory. Defenders Following the capture of Yoro, United's level of strength in depth across all areas of the back four is currently reasonable, with the Frenchman joining Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans at centre-back. However, United are keen to offload Lindelof and that could open the door for a replacement.
At left-back, last season's long-term injuries to both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia could force United's hand to bring in another option, but they have youngsters Sam Murray and Harry Amass showing plenty of promise and they could make up the numbers. In an ideal world, United could do with selling Casemiro before his value plummets further. In a stocktake of United's inventory, this one is pushing close to the best before date. Mason Mount will be hoping for an injury-free second season at Old Trafford to prove his worth and Scott McTominay could be retained after a haul of 10 goals last season, but a tempting offer could convince them to sell.
Wingers Speaking of wingers, if United need to trim any department within their squad this summer it has to be the wide areas. Ten Hag is knee-deep in wingers who can operate on either flank. There is plenty of surplus stock that could be sold to help reinvest.
