Travelling could be a challenge.CLEVELAND, Ohio - Friday is turning into a nice springlike day with sunshine and temperatures climbing to the 60s, but that will come to an end as the afternoon goes on. Cloud cover increases, and rain pushes in by mid to late afternoon.
After temporarily breaking away, cloud cover increases again Friday afternoon with rain showers pushing in from the south. These will reach the Cleveland metro area around 5 p.m.Rain showers continue for the remainder of Friday evening and into Saturday morning. The breeze picks up from the south at 15 to 20 mph, with occasional gusts up to 30 mph. Low temperatures only drop to the mid 50s.On Saturday, expect a steady rain through much of the day as temperatures hover steady in the 50s.
A brief break in precipitation occurs Saturday evening, then winds shift to the northwest Saturday night, ushering in lake-effect snow showers and squalls. Winds can gust up to 40 mph at times. Snow showers will persist through much of the day on Sunday. Given the marginal surface temperatures , most accumulation is confined to grassy and elevated surfaces. However, snow can fall heavy enough at times to briefly coat the roadways.
