The inaugural Cruisin’ the Hill car show took place Saturday at Medal of Honor Park as classic and newer modeled Corvettes from across the country converged at that park and were on display.

There were baseball games going on all day at the park, too. Philbert Martial and Eric Reed told FOX10 News they organized this event especially for the kids. “The reason we’re doing this is for the kids,” said Martial, president of the Cottage Hill Athletic Association. “You know, when we did it, and we talked about at the beginning, another young man — I asked him, ‘would you come out to College to support a car show?’ He said, ‘That’s what we want to do. You know, we want to learn about the cars. There’s not gonna be any problems that what we’re into.’ This was a 22 year old young man,” Martial said.

Eric Reid, president of the Classic Corvette Club said, “Just being out here with the community support--you know, just the main thing, anything you do here in Mobile, you know, you want to support in and everything you have. And then it’s just the people, you know, coming out, just meeting a variety of people from all walks of the world. So, this is what I enjoy mostly.”Copyright 2024 WALA. All rights reserved.
