The trooper conducted a traffic stop on the sedan at milepost 31 after noticing a temporary registration tag hanging from the vehicle flapping through the wind and dark, tinted windows.Contact was made with both the driver of the vehicle, 23-year-old Carl Tyreejr Carter, and the sole passenger, 21-year-old Geovanni Dixon VIII.
During the search, the trooper located a plastic baggie consistent with marijuana use as well as a priority cardboard mailing box that was taped shut with no writing on it.The trooper opened the box and located a vacuum-sealed baggie suspected to be concealing a controlled substance.Both men were then handcuffed and additional units were called onto the scene.
