Apache County has no animal control department and lot of abandoned dogs with no clear path forward.
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Officials are investigating a double fatality reported Thursday morning east of Flagstaff on Interstate 40.
A crash involving two tractor trailers was reported at about 3 a.m. near the eastbound off-ramp to Parks. One of the commercial vehicles was stopped at at a fork in the roadway and the driver had exited to inspect the tires. Another commercial vehicle then struck the stopped vehicle, causing significant damage.
The driver and co-driver of the stopped vehicle died at the scene, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. The driver and co-driver of the other vehicle were not injured. A man was killed when a car he was driving rolled over into a wall, according to police.
