Three other girls were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Two minors were seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when a tour bus crashed into a tree in West Milford, authorities said.
Officers rushed to East Shore Road in town at 3:16 p.m. after they received multiple 911 calls and discovered the bus was traveling south on the road when it hit the tree, according to a statement from the West Milford Police Department. The impact caused one of the branches to break off and enter the passenger compartment of the vehicle, which was operated by Monsey Tours of Brooklyn, investigators said.
Two girls inside the bus were seriously injured, authorities said. One was flown to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson and the other was flown to Hackensack University Hospital in Hackensack, police said.
