NORTH RIVERSIDE, Ill. â An altercation at a west suburban mall on Wednesday afternoon resulted in a shooting that injured two people.North Riverside Mayor Joseph Mengoni said police were called to the North Riverside Park Mall, shortly before 5:30 p.m. for a report of a shot fired. A single gunshot struck both males who were taken to local hospitals with injuries. Their conditions were stabilized.Mengoni said it was an isolated incident. No one else was injured during the altercation.
'Videos posted on social media appeared to show first responders treating an injured man lying on his back in a parking lot outside of the mall.Chopper 2 spotted several police cars parked in front of a taped-off area of what appeared to be the west side entrance of the mall.'We just seen a bunch of police cars,' said mallgoer Tony Sutton. 'They were blocking everywhere. We were just trying to shop at the mall.
