(UPDATE) MANILA, Philippines: Two Filipino doctors were among the 22 staff of Doctors Without Borders who were able to cross into Egypt as 115 others await their turn, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed.

'Yes, the two Filipino doctors have crossed into Egypt, based on an update from Post,' DFA spokesman Ma. Teresita Daza ⁩ said in a text message, referring to the Philippine Embassy in Jordan.The DFA identified the two doctors as Darwin Dela Cruz and Dr. Regidor Esguerra. No other details were provided as of posting time.

This count does not include the two Filipino doctors from MSF who have crossed the Rafah border into Egypt.'According to its website, the Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières is an international, independent medical humanitarian organisation.'We provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare.
