Forecasters say the vast majority of the UK will be affected
Forecasters are warning that only two regions in the UK might escape an intense Arctic blizzard predicted to hit in less than two weeks. Northern Ireland and the South West of England should avoid the snowfall when temperatures are expected to drop sharply around February 11.
Other areas could see lighter snowfall at a rate of 5cm per hour during the fast-moving blizzard, driven by strong westerly winds. Cities such as Manchester and Newcastle could be among the hardest hit in England. The outlook comes from meteorologists at MetDesk, who supply WXCharts with their data. In contrast, the Met Office has not yet confirmed the possibility of blizzards around February 11, reports the Mirror.
Despite the stark scenarios depicted by MetDesk's models, with freezing temperatures potentially affecting places like Lancashire and Cumbria, forecasters note that weather predictions may change as the period in question draws closer.
