Two women are dead in what is a possible murder-suicide on Manhattan’s Upper East Side Friday morning, police said.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. on East 88th Street and York Avenue, just a short distance from Gracie Mansion. Sources familiar with the incident say that the two women were former in-laws, with the former mother-in-law reportedly killing her former daughter-in-law before killing herself. Sources say that a gun was recovered at the scene and another gun was found inside a handbag.
Police were seen canvassing the area for evidence Friday morning. One witness, who was outside cleaning up, called 911 after he heard yelling and gunshots.“I ducked into my doorway for cover,” the witness said. “And then I looked up and saw the lady with the white hair fall onto the sidewalk.“I’m shocked,” Eisenberg, who has lived in the area for 13 years, said. “I walk my dog by there every day. I hate that the city became dangerous. I don’t take the subway, I walk.
