DELAWARE COUNTY, Indiana — A Delaware County jury deliberated for three hours before convicting a 20-year-old man from AndersonAlexander Geesy, of Anderson, was convicted of murder and obstruction of justice.
"Although nothing can bring back the life of William Coomer, the victim in this case, I hope that these verdicts will be the first step on the long road to healing for the victim’s family," Delaware County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Ramirez said in a statement. 4 charged in connection to killing of Delaware County veteran
Court documents say a witness said Coomer and his wife then drove down to the cemetery. Coomer and Ryan Geesy allegedly got into an argument, with Coomer hitting Ryan Geesy. The witness then claims Alexander pulled out a gun and pointed it at Coomer, ordering him to get on the ground and fired a warning shot. The witness said Coomer then tried to get back to his truck as Alexander fired multiple shots at him and saw Coomer fall into a ditch.
A jury trial for Ryan, on charges of assisting a criminal and obstruction of justice, is scheduled to begin Jan. 21, 2025.
