It’s the Ravens at the Chiefs to begin the 2024 NFL season.
The NFL is swinging for the fences for its kickoff game. Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald’s final game as Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator was a tough 17-10 home loss against the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. We’re going to have to wait until Wednesday to see who will be Macdonald’s first opponent, but on Monday it was confirmed that Baltimore’s first game of the post-Macdonald era will be on the road... in Kansas City.
The Chiefs scored 14 points on their opening two possessions, then tapered off to just a field goal over their final nine drives. Patrick Mahomes and company were shutout in the 2nd half, but Lamar Jackson and the Ravens’ sputtering offense failed to take advantage and turned it over twice deep in Chiefs territory. After Macdonald’s departure for Seattle, the Ravens promoted former linebacker Zachary Orr to DC.
