A two-story mixed-use building, along with two one-story buildings in Cleveland's Forest Hill's neighborhood may be demolished
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Three dilapidated buildings, all a century old, are in line for demolition to clean up a corner in the Forest Hills area of Cleveland’s East Side.
Plans submitted by the city to the Cleveland Planning Commission call for the razing of a two-story structure and two one-story buildings that once housed retail, a warehouse and apartments on Superior Avenue between East 124th and East 125th streets. They sit on about a third of an acre. Cuyahoga County property records show that these buildings account for 15,400 square-feet, valued at nearly $74,000.
A presentation submitted to the commission showed that Beth Mackey, a member of the city’s planning commission, would represent the project with plans to clear, grade and seed the property following demolition. Photos included in the presentation showed holes in the walls and ceilings, caved in floors, deteriorating brick and other blemishes. County records list the property as in poor and unsound condition and information provided to the commission note that it was condemned in April 2010.If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
