The solar eclipse is April 8.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Ahead of the April 8 solar eclipse, city and county leaders held a press conference at the Great Lakes Science Center Thursday afternoon.
Representatives from the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, the Great Lakes Science Center, NASA and the Greater Cleveland RTA shared updates and tips for those getting ready to view the total solar eclipse. Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb and Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne were joined by executives from the county and city departments.
Cleveland’s Interim Safety Director Wayne Drummond told residents to make sure their cell phones are charged, their vehicles have a full tank of gas, and they allow themselves extra time to get to work that day.
