Four people were arrested when an attempted burglary led to a shooting and chase in Schertz early Thursday morning.

The incident started just before 4 a.m. when a homeowner tried to stop a vehicle burglary at their home in the 11000 block of Holly Forest, located in the Willow Grove Subdivision.Police said the burglary suspects fled to a vehicle, and as they drove off, one of them shot in the air. No one was injured.
Officers located a car that matched the description of the suspect vehicle and attempted to pull it over. Police said the vehicle did not pull over and fled toward Interstate 10, initiating a pursuit.Three people were arrested after a short foot chase. The fourth person was arrested two hours after he was seen leaving a wooded area near the original scene, police said.
