The city and provincial governments of Iloilo started implementing a four-day workweek on Monday as part of measures to cope with the steep increase in fuel prices.
ILOILO CITY —
City Hall employees will be working from Monday to Thursday, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., to help employees cope with the high fuel costs as well as save on electricity on the part of the city government, said Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas.“This will also mean an extra day off for their families,” he said in a press conference this week.
Employees in offices providing essential services, including health district centers and the Public Safety and Transportation Management Office, will still be working five days weekly.
