Philippe Clement has already kicked off his business with Jefte and Oscar Cortes penning on the dotted line.

The Light Blues legend knows Philippe Clement faces another busy window of activity with priority positions needing addressed. The Ibrox boss has already started getting down to work by landing full-back Jefte from Fluminese and a return for Oscar Cortes on a season-long loan from Lens with an obligation in the deal to become permanent next summer.

The likes of John Lundstram, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe have all left following the expiry of their contracts with others expected to follow. A host of names have been linked with a move in the door with the Govan side scouting the globe in the search of new talent. But Hateley reckons names closer to home will also be in the thinking with the likes of Bojan Miovski and Lawrence Shankland at Aberdeen and Hearts proven goal scorers in Scotland's top flight.

Speaking to Bettingsites, when asked what Rangers need next season and if Shankland and Miovski should be in the minds of the Ibrox hierarchy, Hateley explained: “Yeah, I think all those sort of players will be in the thinking. I think it’s key areas again. When you’re looking for an overall rebuild and a different structure, going forward, it needs to be all levels through the football club. Academy director and obviously recruitment.

“Miovski and Shankland, they all fit into that group. Obviously they score goals at this level, which is important, but you’ve got to be careful of what you bring in. Because I think invariably you’re looking at the domestic league of, you know, being able to negotiate your way and navigate your way through that league.

“It’s the European situation that you’ve got too, so you’ve got to look for players that have got to be able to go to that level and at that level, I think you’re looking at a different price bracket. So that’s where we are right now at Rangers. I don’t know how much money we have to spend and what sort of quality we can pick up.”
