Prosecutors filed charges against all 46 protestors who shut down the entrance to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Monday.
Pro-Palestinian protestors blocked the road to arrivals and departures terminals at Seattle –Tacoma International Airport on Monday, April 15. But prosecutors moved quickly Tuesday and filed charges for failure to disperse and disorderly conduct against all 46 individuals, according to officials with the city of SeaTac.
“Based on the information provided by police, were able to have everything ready and file charges today. What happens next is the prosecutors will send out a summons to all 46 of them," said Kyle Moore, a spokesperson for the city of SeaTac.used vehicles to block the entrance drive to SEA starting around 3 p.m. Monday. The protest lasted for approximately two hours as police towed away the vehicles and detained several protesters who had used a “sleeping dragon” to chain their arms together.The protest trapped travelers who were trying to access the terminal on the airport expressway leading to the airport, many of whom opted to get their luggage and walk to the terminal instead of waiting in their cars.Gov.
"Regardless of political affiliation, major disruptions like these that can impact public health and safety cannot be tolerated. I appreciate the efforts of local departments and the State Patrol who have acted in these recent incidents to pursue charges against individuals involved in shutting down roadways," Inslee said.
