They include major routes in Lancaster, Preston, Chorley, Ormskirk, Cleveleys, Rossendale, Accrington, Longridge, Colne and Burnley
A list of the 47 locations where mobile speed cameras will be deployed across Lancashire next month has been released.
From Saturday , dozens of roads in the county will be monitored by the Lancashire Road Safety Partnership in order to catch out rule-breaking motorists. Drivers who are speeding could be at risk of getting a fine or points on their licence. So it could be a good idea to keep a close eye on your speedometer when you are driving along these streets. They include the M6, M65, M55, M61 as well as several parts of the A59 and Blackpool Promenade.Other locations on the list include Lancaster, Preston, Chorley, Ormskirk, Cleveleys, Rossendale, Accrington, Longridge, Colne, Burnley, Samlesbury and Gisburn. The LRSP comprises agencies including emergency services, councils and Highways Englang.
A spokesperson said: "One aim of the Lancashire Road Safety Partnership is to improve driver behaviour by helping motorists drive at an appropriate and safe speed within designated limits so we operate our safety camera enforcement vehicles across Lancashire 7 days a week. Our cameras use highly accurate laser technology to detect speeding motorists but they are also used to identify other offences, including drivers not in proper control or not wearing a seat belt.
"All our mobile sites are risk assessed for safety and we vary how often we attend different locations with sites based on casualty data, known speeding concerns, where a report has been made directly by a member of the public concerned about speeding issues in their area along with any location that has a fixed roadside camera."Lancashire RoadWatch
