It simply has to be better against Switzerland in Cologne as lessons learned from Germany debacle will hopefully be evident.
An opening night battering from Germany in Munich shredded the Euro 2024 optimism amongst the Tartan Army - at least until their steins were full again - and left the squad angry and embarrassed. Now they have the chance to put things right against Switzerland in Cologne, where a draw is the bare minimum required to prevent Sunday's clash with Hungary becoming a dead rubber.
Scott McKenna was also thrown on in Munich. His header led to the consolation OG from Antonio Rudiger on what was the one, miniscule bright spot on Friday night. However, he's almost certainly behind Hanley in the pecking order. Tierney to right back? It's hard to be overly critical of Anthony Ralston. The Celtic defender found himself in the squad after both Aaron Hickey and Nathan Patterson were ruled out so Clarke was left extremely short of options in that position. It was a night to forget for Ralston as he was given a chasing, but there's no guarantee the same wouldn't have happened to anyone else.
