Donate today and help provide meals to local children & families., 54-year-old Mark Newsome was arrested and charged with second-degree murder Tuesday after he allegedly beat 72-year-old Dale Mitchell to death., Newsome was bound to Macomb County Circuit Court by Roseville District Court Judge Joseph Boedeker on Tuesday and is being held without bond.
The prosecutor's office claims Newsome punched the 72-year-old in the head multiple times, which allegedly led to his death."Oh God it scared the hell out of me, it really did," Bob McQuade told WJBK.The roommates told WJBK that they had been sleeping when the alleged fight occurred. "To think a fight over food would escalate into murder. It’s inconceivable," McQuade told the outlet.
"'Why are you doing this?'" Melton recalled to WJBK. "'Why are you doing this? Leave me alone. Quit, please quit.' that’s what I heard." Speaking to the outlet, McQuade said he "trusted Mark" as a friend, adding that he "could never believe he would've done something like that."
