A total of 56,000 hectares of idle government-owned agricultural lands are being eyed for distribution to landless farmers and other qualified beneficiaries under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program , the Department of Agrarian Reform said.
The DAR chief said that there would be no moratorium to stop the distribution of government-owned lands, including idle agricultural lands of SUCs. He added lands that are not being used for educational purposes shall be included in the inventory of lands for SUCs, adding that he had already directed DAR field officials to closely coordinate with the SCUs so that only those that are no longer used for educational purposes will be included in the inventory.
