With five unique forest locations in the UK and one in Ireland, Center Parcs is the perfect getaway for families with young children
Going on a family break with a preschooler can sometimes seem like a stressful experience. Long plane journeys and shared hotel rooms – where the whole family has to go to bed at the same time – aren’t always ideal. Which is why we’re massive fans of Center Parcs. With five unique forest locations in the UK and one in Ireland, you can pack everything you need in your car for some quality family time away.
The Subtropical Swimming Paradise is heated to a balmy 29.5C, so no need to worry about little ones getting chilly when they’re in and out of the water. Slightly older children can whizz down preschooler-friendly water slides, explore huge pirate ships … and trick parents into stepping under giant tipping water buckets!
Children can get adventurous on wibbly wobbly rope walks, swings and climbing frames at the outdoor play areas. And there’s free indoor soft play located within the restaurant areas if you want to head inside – no booking required. Top preschooler tip If your child is three or over, they’ll love – and we mean REALLY love – the Off-Road Explorers. Forget playing with toy cars, at Center Parcs they can drive their very own mini 4x4 over rough terrain and rumble strips.4, The accommodation is super child-friendly There’s a variety of accommodations to suit your family’s needs, all spacious and modern: from Woodland Lodges and Executive Lodges to the spectacular Treehouses.
5. You can go cycling Photo credit : Center Parcs Cycling is a great way for the family to get around the villages and explore woodland trails or pedal off to your next activity. Take cycles with you or hire mountain bikes, balance bikes and tag-along trailer cycles from the Cycle Centre. But if wet weather isn’t your thing, head to the Subtropical Swimming Paradise for a splash around or take part in one of the many indoor crafts or play activities.
