If his contract was expiring in a couple of week's time, Maguire would have been staring at the exit door when he entered his final 12 months. Despite being stripped of the captaincy, Maguire's form has enjoyed a resurrection and there are definitely grounds to offer him a new deal. This deal feels like it will focus more on Wan-Bissaka than United. The Englishman is a great option to have at right-back but with Diogo Dalot still around, he is unlikely to be first-choice. No doubt another team could offer him that though so expect the defender to weigh up his options this summer.
