What parents should look out for when buying kids' Christmas gifts – from using reputable retailers to products containing button batteries.
Christmas is just five weeks away – and the top Christmas toys for 2024 have already been revealed. But parents are being urged to be vigilant about what they are buying gifts for their little ones. And where they are buying kids' presents from.
2. Be careful when shopping online Safety experts say: 'Special care should be taken when shopping online, especially from online marketplaces where products may be listed by sellers outside of the UK. Don't buy products that don't have this marking as even if they are novelty gifts, as they may not be safe for children to play with.
The same goes for Christmas toys and the RoSPA warns: 'If the price is ‘too good to be true’, it probably isn’t a legitimate product.' The RoSPA explains: 'Take care when buying products containing button batteries, which can be seriously harmful if swallowed.'
