Almost 70 new homes could be developed in Drumchapel after a planning application was submitted to Glasgow City Council planning chiefs.
Wheatley Homes have put forward a proposal for 31 new town houses, a block of 28 flats and eight cottage flats in a bid to provide “much required” housing for affordable rent in the area on Abbotshall Avenue.
Abbotshall Avenue, which is underdeveloped and borders Bearsden and Drumry is a 23 minute drive from Glasgow City Centre.An initial in person public consultation was held in March this year at the Drumchapel Library and Learning centre to present information to interested members of the public. Feedback from the consultation allowed the developers to reflect on the comments and make changes to the application which included more three and four bed properties as well as more one bedroom cottage flats.
