A total of 70 salt workers from Dasol, Pangasinan received a free prostate specific antigen test from GMA Kapuso Foundation to mark National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.
According to a report on "24 Oras," Monday, 19 out of 100,000 men may develop prostate cancer, based on data from the National Kidney and Transplant Institute."Usually there's a frequency of urination, nahihirapan sila umihi," said Dr. Genaro Merino, municipal health officer of Dasol, about the symptoms of prostate cancer.Among the risk factors of prostate cancer include family history, old age, obesity, lifestyle, and unhealthy diet.
Aside from the prostate cancer test, the salt workers also received a free urinalysis, grocery packs, hygiene kits, clothes, and pants. For those who are interested to help, the GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
