ISLAMABAD – Rains and windstorms are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Monday night. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, moist currents are entering central and southern Pakistan, while a westerly wave is affecting the upper and central regions and is expected to continue for the next two days.
Due to these conditions, rain and windstorms are expected on Monday night in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, as well as in parts of northeast and southern Punjab, the Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, southeast and eastern Sindh, and northeastern Balochistan. Heavy rain may occur at a few spots in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On Tuesday, the weather is expected to remain mostly hot and dry across the country. However, rain and windstorms may occur at isolated places in northeast Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and southeast or eastern Sindh. In Islamabad, temperatures on Tuesday are expected to reach between 35°C and 37°C, rising to between 36°C and 38°C on Wednesday. Rawalpindi will see similar temperatures, with highs ranging from 35°C to 37°C on Tuesday and 36°C to 38°C on Wednesday.Over the past 24 hours, hot and dry weather prevailed across most of the country. Plain areas experienced particularly intense heat, although some isolated spots did receive rainfall.Turbat remained the hottest place in Pakistan, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 47°C. The maximum temperature in Jacobabad was recorded at 46°C, and in Dadu, Mohenjo-Daro and Sibbi at 45°C. In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 33 percent.In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 28 percent.
