ITV has partnered with Mattel to turn a very familiar board game into a game show, with Mel Giedroyc hosting when it begins in December.
Pictionary is being brought to the small screen ITV has announced a brand new game show, but viewers will already be very familiar with the concept. In partnership with toy brand Mattel, the broadcaster is bringing Pictionary to the small screen. The announcement has left us with only one question… how has it taken until 2024 for this to happen? Many of us are used to playing it in our households after one too many glasses of wine, with a competitive aunty who takes things extremely seriously.
Mel Giedroyc will be the host The concept has been a hit in America, with Fox already reaching its third season. Across the pond, Jerry O’Connell is doing the task Mel will be undertaking for British audiences. On launching to the UK market, Mattel’s Vice President of Content Distribution Alex Godfrey said she was ‘excited to see Pictionary’s popularity with viewers’. They are ready to ‘invite even more fans of the classic game to join in on the fun,’ and we will be RSVPing ‘YES’.
