For Defence to not know why an office down at the department was refurbished “beggars’ belief”, according to The Daily Telegraph’s Senior Correspondent Charles Miranda.

Mr Miranda’s remarks come after it was revealed that the cost of the refurbishment was $800,000, and Defence Minister Richard Marles didn’t ask for the office and neither did he know it existed, while his staff only learnt about the office’s existence seven months into the project.
