Immigration will “always” be a “part of the solution” to Australia’s economic struggles but the broken model cannot be driven “flat-chat for the next two years,” says Institute of Public Affairs John Storey.
“We want immigration that will really help Australia and address problems we’ve got, including in rural areas,” Mr Storey told Saturday Morning Herald columnist Steve Price.
“The government just commissioned a report into the immigration system and the verdict was that our immigration system is broken.“That is what our immigration is now.”
