Outgoing NSW Treasurer Matt Kean’s ambition and political energy are “missing in action” as he rules himself out of the state’s Liberal leadership contest, says Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“Does he think he’d be too toxic for the party, for the electorate? Or does he really just want the easy life?
“If he really believes in his moderate agenda, his leftist agenda, now is the time to take up the fight.”

NSW Liberal Party’s election defeat a ‘serious loss’Former Liberal MP Dave Sharma says it’s going to “take some time” to understand and reflect on the lessons learned from the Liberal Party’s defeat in the New South Wales election. “Undoubtedly, it’s a serious loss, and it’s obviously the loss of the last state on the mainland that the Liberals are in government, so it has state but also federal consequences as a result,” Mr Sharma told Sky News Australia. “Look, it was always going to be difficult (for) a government that’s been in power for 12 years to get re-elected. “But I would say that I think the New South Wales government can look back proudly on how they’ve transformed the state of their 12 years in government and the fact that they’re leaving the state in a much better and much stronger position than they inherited.”
