Police say a video shows the 9-year-old girl walking with her father toward the business when she gets shot in the leg.
9-year-old girl shot with father's firearm outside McDonald's in North Philadelphia: PoliceA young child was accidentally shot by her father's gun outside of a McDonald's in North Philadelphia, according to police.
It happened just after 6:15 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of the fast food restaurant at North Broad Street and West Allegheny Avenue. "You can see her legs buckle. It appears that she's in pain. It appears that something happens to her leg and we know that she was shot. So those cameras at McDonald's did capture that," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.
But new video obtained by police reportedly shows the father getting out of his car and putting the firearm in his pants when it suddenly discharged. The girl was taken to Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle and is in stable condition. She was later transferred to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.
