Finally. Welcome to NFL Draft week. Which teams are armed with the most draft picks? Which positions could teams be eyeing? And who are the standout players at each position? The Athletic has the details:
Twelve years after Carolina selected Cam Newton at No. 1, the Panthers could add Alabama quarterback Bryce Young at the top of the 2023 draft. OK, so the Panthers are picking No. 1 and will be taking a quarterback, unless they’re dialing up one of sports’ all-time plot twists. Back toBoth Young and Stroud are outstanding quarterbacks.
That was the evaluation last Monday, and very little appears to have changed. The betting market on Young being the first pick has exploded. At one point, Stroud was the favorite; now Young’s odds are upward of -1000. That’s about as close to a lock as you’re gonna get, short of the Panthers straight up telling us the pick early.Young was a remarkable, Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback at Alabama. His ability to create big plays out of nothing is absolutely next-level.
